Car Seat Recalls

If you'd like to search for car seat recalls from 1990 to present, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website.

Sometimes car seat companies have recalls to protect you and your little one on the road. Therefore, make sure you keep up-to-date with recent recall notices to make sure your little one’s car seat is safe to use. If the car seat is recalled, it will need to be repaired or replaced.

Although a lot of people throw away the registration card, it is best to fill it out and send it back to the manufacturer. This is one way to make sure you are informed of a recall. The manufacturer uses this information to get the word out about a recall.

If you already threw away the registration card, don’t worry. Most car seat companies let you register your child’s car seat online. You can even go to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website or call NHTSA's Auto-Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236. Once you register with the NHTSA, they can also notify you if your child’s car seat gets recalled.
