4th of July Safety Tips
Kick off the summer with my 4th of July safety tips.
I love the 4th of July. To me, this is the kick off to summer. The Fourth gives us the first parade, the first barbeque, and the first fireworks of the summer. Unfortunately, it is also a dangerous time of the year.
The 4th can bring out the patriotic “best” in us. You add fireworks, a cookout, and too much alcohol, and you just created a potential dangerous situation. So to prevent a trip to the emergency room, follow these safety tips.
- The Golden Rules.
Establish rules with your little one before the festivities begin. Discuss with them the importance of the rules and the consequences if the rules are not followed.
- Remember my
firework safety tips.
If not handled correctly, fireworks can do a lot of damage. To me, the best way to prevent an accident is to not use them at all. Instead go to public fireworks displays, and leave the lighting to the professionals.
- Drink Responsibly.
During the Fourth, people love to drink brewskies and other spirits. So for everyone’s safety, do not let anyone cook on the grill, light fireworks, or drive if they have been drinking.
- Be safe when swimming.
When it’s hot outside, it is fun to cool down with a dip in the pool. But never forget about
swimming safety.
- Don’t forget the sunscreen.
A sunburn never looks or feels good. So apply plenty of sunscreen to your little one’s skin to
protect it from harmful sun rays.
- Have lots of SAFE fun!
